So I saw you posted a nice little comment on my post. I posted something just now so just curious if you would like to check it out. You're interesting.

Thanks.  I always took exception to that quote because it is saying that hypocritical Christians lead people to atheism.  That really makes no sense.  Why wouldn’t hypocritical Christians just as soon drive people to a different religion?  Why just atheism?  It also fails to take into account that atheists existed long before not on Christians, but Jews, too.  It also doesn’t consider Jesus’ own words that most people in the world are going to hell.  He didn’t say if we weren’t “good” Christians.. He just said most of the world is going to hell.  If I were Satan, I would love to popularize Manning’s quote because it quickly gets Christians pointing fingers at one another and blaming each other for the state of the unsaved world.  I’m sure it was well intended, but it is a horribly unbiblical and damaging quote.

Reblogging because this is a great quote.

Calling Ron Paul pro-abortion is like calling the anti-abolitionists pro-slavery because they thought the states should decide on slavery.
Oh, wait..

asks:
Oh trust me. I look into facts. More than you do, anyway. I don't dedicate my life to a big book with un-confirmed information. And no, I don't believe in heaven or hell, but I believe if you are a good person, whatever happens after death will treat you well, as you were a good person, regardless of faith. If you weren't (as you are being) Then... And I don't see why it should matter what you believe as long as your are a good person who treats others and themselves with respect.

Well, you don’t know what I’ve looked into so you can’t really make that statement with any certainty.  But I am curious.. why do you think that “whatever happens after death will treat you will” if you’re a “good person?”  It sounds as if you believe that a person will be rewarded for good after death.  What do you base this on?

The typical evolutionary debate with “badp”.

sprint-please:

badp: Evolution is a flawed theory… and evolutionists are lying about their mistakes and refuse to accept Creation as the actual truth it is, etc.
Someone: Actually, there are many proofs towards evolution. Such as radiometric dating, fossil records, genetics, archaeology, etc.
badp: There are gaps in the fossil record, radiometric dating is flawed, etc.
Someone: There is countless proof towards evolution compared to creation.
badp: No.
Someone: List proof for Creation, if you are so certain.
badp: I refuse to list proof unless you prove evolution.

Notice how the evolutionist actively attempts to change the subject away from evolution and toward religion.  This is typical.  Whenever I try to talk about only evolution, and show what a horrifically weak theory it is, the evolutionist tries to inject religion into the discussion!  I want to force the evolutionist to confront the fact that evolution is utterly unscientific and based largely on fabricated evidence.  But the evolutionists would rather talk religion.

“The Single Greatest Cause of Atheism today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and deny Him by their lifestyle.””

I file this quote under the category of “Stupid, unbiblical cliches Christians use to try to make nice with the world.”  Has anyone considered that atheists existed before Christianity?  Come on..

Suicide

I’ve seen a lot of talk about suicide here lately.  Here’s the thing that’s missing from the discussion:

If there is no God, no heaven or hell, no punishment or reward, then why does suicide really even matter?

Seriously, if the atheists are right about there being no God, and nothing but the material world, why is suicide so bad?

What is it within us that tells us suicide is a bad thing?  What is it that makes us sad when a person commits suicide?  And what drives us to speak out to help people who are hurting and need someone to talk to?

It’s our God-given conscience that tells us these things.  And if you want to help stop suicide, the only effective way is to start by recognizing that you were Created by God and you have value and worth.

You are not an animal.  You’re not the product of evolution

You’re not a random event in a mindless universe.

You’re not a drag on society or a threat to nature.

You’re a human being created in God’s image and likeness.  He loves you and He wants to have a personal relationship with you.

He’s not going to fix every aspect of your life.  He’s not going to take away your problems.  He’s not going to be a genie or a butler.  But He will forgive you of your sins and send His Holy Spirit to live in your heart if you believe that He sent His Son to die for your sins and rise from the dead to conquer death and hell.

If you turn to Him and trust in Jesus Christ, He will forgive you and let you live with Him forever in heaven when you die.

It’s real.  Just as real as suicide and cutting.  But He is greater than both.

Stop shoving your religions and views down other peoples throats. It hurts and it's annoying.

No.  I will continue to force people to think about Jesus Christ whenever they read my blog.

asks:
I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but do you really think the way you present it is godly? I'm not even asking you to be a sugar-coated lollipop Christian--I do believe in righteous anger and having to be stern and harsh at times, Jesus was harsh sometimes too. But his method the majority of the time was tender and gentle, why else would so many sinners be eager to hang out with him? It just breaks my heart to see a man of God act so harshly all the time.

Please consider these two things:

1. Some sinners did want to hang out with Jesus because they believed He was the Messiah and they wanted to follow Him and be saved.  Most of them, however, came only to see Him do miracles (John 6:2) or get food (John 6:26).

2. Jesus was not crucified because everybody liked how nice He was.  They were offended by Him.  The Bible calls Him the “Rock of Offense” (Romans 9:33, et al.)  He showed them miracles which they could not deny.  He proved to all Israel that He was the Christ, and He did not apologize or make excuses for those who rejected Him.  He wasn’t unduly harsh, but He told the truth, and it was naturally offensive.
